One of the trends in podcasting industry lately is video podcasting. Nowadays, I have noticed that there are growing numbers of podcasters around the world who are trying this thing out. Some of them are releasing video version along with their usual audio podcast episodes once in a while. Even podcasting consultants are also in this trend lately.
If you have been producing audio podcast for a while now, perhaps you may think that video podcast is harder to produce. Well, I can say that you are right because preparation will be doubled since you also need to fix yourself before the show (because you don’t want your audience see you in sleeping wear or be seen on cam with lousy hair) and of course, you need to prepare some script and see to it the you have the right video accessories to shoot your show.
But once you had set all the resources you need and become used to the preparations and time scheduling, your podcasting gig will definitely be on the higher level. You are now like a TV host and not just a radio newscaster. And we all know that watching videos are more exciting than listening to radio.
However, this does not mean that audio podcasting is out since videos are hot. There are actually many people out there who are too busy to watch and just like to listen on their favorite podcasts while driving, jogging or travelling. There is no reason to stop producing audio podcasts; the thing is to have both of them if you can so that you can provide entertainment for bigger market.
