Podcast transcript is the written version of podcast episodes that are usually published within 2-3 days after the episode has been published. Podcasting experts and consultant encourages their client podcasters to create podcast transcript on their website because of its some known benefits to the show.
Jason Van Orden says that the text content on podcaster’s site will give them more exposure in the search engines. Lissa on the other hand said that transcribing your podcast offer an additional way for people to consume your content. And both of them raised the possibility that podcasters may earn or monetize the transcript of their podcasts.
And of course, people who are browsing for some podcasts prefer those shows that have lots of details and those that properly described. The presence of podcast transcript in a show reflects the dedication and reliability of its producers. Moreover, your listeners will feel that you are confident enough to cover everything that transpired on your show.
However, if you do not have the time or extra resources to transcribe your episodes, caring to write short but descriptive episode summaries of your podcast is good enough. And remember that podcast transcript may not be applicable to all podcasts especially in radio or music podcasts where the hosts only do intermittent or minimal talks. And creating a transcript can be too tiring if you have a daily show. If this is the case, I highly recommend you to just stick on providing short summaries of your episodes.
