It is not unusual for any podcaster or podcast show to be stood up by their guest; this is a reality that every podcaster should anticipate. The reason of the no-show guests may be reasonable or may be lame but it is actually beyond our control and we can not change it. But don’t be a loser when your guest stood up your show for any reason.
You are a creative and brilliant podcaster! You can definitely do something when you are faced in this dilemma. The key is to plan ahead. Formulate some strategies that you can use on our show when our expected guest did not show up. You may want to include those topics you wanted to discuss on your podcast but find them hard to fit in the normal course of the show.
This will be the perfect time for your unconventional or totally different but interesting topics to be unleashed. I am pretty sure that your audiences will be happier to hear your off-the-wall episode than to read your announcement of “No show for today because this week’s guest didn’t make it…”
Even if your podcast is just a usual talk show, it is important that you demonstrate professionalism. Remember that no matter how simple or ordinary your show is, whether it is a big production or not, you have listeners that anticipate your show on the regular basis. The show must always go on and what matters most is your presence. Who knows? Your off-the-wall episode because of your no-show guest may become as one of your highly regarded podcast episodes.
