Nowadays, podcasts are not just being created as a personal hobby; there are actually a bunch of podcasts that are being produced by corporate or enterprises and even educational institutions. In fact, podcasting industry had gone a long way and there are already podcasting companies and podcast-related enterprises like PodShow, Odeo, Podcast Ready, AnyStream, D&M Professional, Topnotch Websites and many others that provide podcasting services to various enterprises.
Naturally, we expect podcasts from enterprises and universities to be professionally produced because lousy production will have an effect to the image of the company. And more often than not, the above podcasting services are not really enough to create professional podcasts. And for me, this is where the service of a podcasting consultant became indispensable. Many companies and universities avail the service of a consultant to eliminate the chance of committing mistakes and to kick off the program as smooth as possible.
Podcasting consultants are also vital because they not only hired to help the enterprises to start their podcasts but also to help the companies to explore and maximize the potential of podcasting to power-up their companies.
But although I acknowledge the importance of hiring a consultant, I am not really saying that hiring a podcasting consultant is mandatory to create well produced podcasts because it is really depend on the company and its people. If the company has its own people to plan and conceptualize about it or if they have a related knowledge about producing shows or media, the service of a podcasting consultant may not be needed anymore.
